I have been coaching youth athletics for the last 15 years. I have a passion for youth athletics and have gained an affinity for bats and balls specifically. I have coached for Top Ranked Travel Teams at all levels, and have developed dozens of current college level players currently on Scholarships.
Through my travels I have learned alot, and continue to do so on a daily basis. I have learned how to communicate clearly and effectively to help develop all my players into all around athletes. I work with every member of any team affiliated with California Gold, as well as every coach who don's the Maroon and Gold hat. I do not oversee teams, I run them with the assistance of my coaches.
I started this organization to help build the sport I love through our Non-Profit. I have worked with and seen a variety of organizations focus on profits over players. The youth sports industry has ballooned into a 16 billion dollar business. Somewhere along the line this became a money grab for some organizations, and they stopped caring about the training and development of the players. My vision is to offer a lower cost alternative environment where every player in the organization gets proper attention when it comes to school, training, and personal development.
We have successfully built a non-profit organization which will support this program, and help our players to play at the highest level regardless of economic position. If a student athlete puts in the work, we will do everything in our power to keep cost affordable so the players can perform. We back up this commitment currently by offering the highest level of training. I personally work with every team and family in our organization. We are looking for partnerships with tutors to help with Academic Achievement, and looking for sponsors who will help to enrich our players experience.
Our 5-Tool Program of Excellence is our guiding light. By focusing on the following:
We firmly believe we are setting up our student athletes for success both off and on the field. Our Mission Statement is "Demonstrating Excellence on the Field for Success in Life" . We hold this true as leaders, and you can hold us accountable for leading by example. Thank you for visiting California Gold Baseball and Softball Academy. Let's Play Ball!
Our ultimate goal for any player that receives instructions or plays on any team is to gain a Scholarship! Having gone through the recruiting process before the value of maintaining grades is more important than being the best player in the Nation. I have seen players who may have not had the best batting average, or throw the hardest go on to play for some of the top colleges in the world. California Gold supports this ideology by offering tutoring, implementing a minimum grade requirement, and offering homework support. The same amount of attention we put into hitting and catching is the same amount as we put into academic success. Through the contributions of our sponsors our goal is to build a study hall staffed by our tutors in order to help full this goal.
We do not raise Ball Players we raise Athletes. Focusing on one sport has its advantages, but also is showing to lead to more repetitive motion injuries. Our training program is constantly evolving utilizing the newest and safest techniques. This allows us to diversify our training regimen to target all small and large muscle groups to prevent injury by having a well rounded athletic body. Core Training, Resistance Training, and Cardio Training are the Triangle of Performance Excellence. Being athletic is a part of our culture, and training helps to build discpline.
"Control the things you can control, and accept the things you can't". We teach that every team has a player, every player has a job, every job has a responsibility, and every responsibility has an action. Using this philosophy we hold our coaches responsible for teaching a specific concept, our players responsible for applying this concept when called upon. The sooner the player learns to accept responsibility for his actions, the better decisions they will make. This applies to every facet of life.
Everyone has a responsibility to leave the world a better place. All of our players, families, and coaches have a responsibility to do this. We all commit to making a positive impact in every situation we encounter. Whether it is through volunteering, teaching, or being a good sportsman we commit to helping out whenever we can, and maintain a positive attitude despite circumstance.
All of our coaches and players are trained to lead be example. We do as we say and say as we do. Our word carries weight, as we maintain credibility by using our 5-Tool Program. We train our players to effectively communicate with team mates, coaches, and any other adult.
When we started this program in 2018 we laid out a few specific measurable goals. 1. Build a program which elevates the players y training and pushing their mental and physical limits. 2. Open a training facility for our athletes to Train, Study, and call home. 3. Offer Educational services to help our athletes achieve academic standards to matriculate into further education. We had a plan and stuck to it. By creating this goal structure and achieving these results as an organization, we have created a culture of accomplishment for our players. Our programming has challenged our players, and those who have continued in the programming are achieving superior results on and off the field. We hold our players to the same standards we hold ourselves as an organization.
Our philosophy is built by the E's.
Effort - Continuously striving to achieve greatness regardless of skill. Hard work all the time every time.
Energy - Driving our minds when our body fails us. Taking care of ourselves so we are prepared to tackle every thing that comes our way.
Execution - Understanding our objectives and fully buying in to the belief that if we do what we set out to do, we win in all we do.
These E's have created a windfall for the most important E of them all. Excellence! We strive for greatness in all we set out to do. Sometimes we win, sometimes we lose, but the goal is for us to be delivery excellence in all we encounter. This is what makes Gold!
